It's All Good...

long, late, nights....

So Jon has been out of town for 3 days of his 7 day work trip and the days are pretty normal i do my chores the girls do school and various things, but the night routine is weird. it is so much nicer to have a second set of hands around during dinner and bath/bed time, but that's not even the bad part its the silence as i climb into bed knowing that he isn't in the other room watching T.V., or on the couch in our room reading or studying. it's just plain lonely, and quiet. but my girls are doing great at keeping me on my toes at night. (talking and playing till 11 p.m.) although i have to say this trip is better than the last,... i'm NOT having emergency surgery this go round so that is always good! (KNOCKING ON WOOD AS I TYPE THIS RIGHT NOW) i'll post more i'm sure as the week goes on, until then happy sleeping!

some kind of catch up

So instead of back dating and trying to play catch up i'm going to sum the last five months as just plain bonkers. there has been surgeries,hospital visits, family in town, holidays, birthdays, dogs, people moving, babies being born, piano lessons, dance classes, school, homework, late nights & early mornings, making new friends, and saying goodbye to old friends, hailee became a sunbeam @ church, (tear)new church callings, hurt feelings, and mended bridges.

So needless to say it's been a little wild and crazy, but we are back and ready for 2012, and hoping for an awesome year of blessings and surprises.

August, 8th 2011 Brooklyn started kindergraten!!! I am so excited for her to learn and grow, and develope her personality. I couldn't resist taking tons of pictures, but i won't bore you with all of them, just my favorites!!!

No I am not pregnant..., but my sister is & she is 37 weeks today! we had a baby shower for her two weeks ago and it was so much fun to watch my sister start the process of becoming a mommy!!! She is having a little boy to be named David Mark Ferrin, and I can hardly wait to see him and hold a nice warm fresh baby, and to embrace a little miracle straight from heaven. Here are a few of her maternity shots that I did. ( I am by no means a professional, but i had fun and I think they look OK!) Good luck in the coming weeks and congrats to the soon to be parents. It's a fun ride!!!

Today started out nicely, yoga with a friend this morning, naps with my girls, yummy snacks, dancing like no one was watching with the girls, and then a sad phone call and then it all went down hill from there. there is however one moment that sticks out from the rest today... this afternoon while i was working on the computer Brooklyn went downstairs to get a Capri sun and i hear a thud as she dropped the box on her foot, and then Clear as day i hear my 4 year old say "oh damn" in the moment i wasn't sure what to do except laugh, but cause I'm mom i had to be the bad guy and explain that she couldn't say that anymore. Even though i was laughing on the inside, i knew that i need to start being a better example to her cause she picks up on everything!

In other news at the Davies house we got family pictures a week or so ago and we had so much fun and got some really good shots!

So we are kinda boring over here for this holiday, but we do have some spirit. The girls made sure they had green clothes on and we ate lucky charms for breakfast! HAHAHA for dinner we will be having Beef and cabbage stir fry!!!( i know it's not corned beef and cabbage, cut me some slack my kids and husband would never eat it) But Dessert will be fun! A little Leprachaun is stopping by and leaving gold (chocolate) coins.

It has been over a month since i have posted. yikes... Well so as not to bore whomever reads this i'll just post a few highlight of the last monthish.

Brooklyn started piano lessons with my friend Berta!!! and she sure seems to love it! i cant keep her of the piano at home now!

( there will be a picture after this highlight) there i days i wonder if Hailee will ever grow out of being really accident prone, but as of now i think not... so brooklyn and hailee were jumping on my bed and well,..."one little monkey fell and bumped her head" ( well nose) sorry for the graphic nature of the photo, but the kid didn't even cry till i started cleaning up! knock on wood we have now gone just aout 10 days with no bumps, brusies, or blood! keep up the good work Hailee!

So jon went out of town for a few days to Idaho for his Nephew Lincoln's Blessing.

so i was single mommin it while jon was gone, but thanks to an amazing friend we survived the weekend with no daddy and no car. We were able to go to Hailee's friend Ryan's birthday party, and our ward party, and to church on sunday without a single hiccup! Thank you Brady & Berta for everything, and for loving my kids!

I found this on another Angel mommy's blog, and it describes my thoughts well... "I heard so many times in church that we are all like rough stones that are put in a tumbler where trials knock pieces off us. Eventually we become smooth and precious from all that we endure. I think until now I have had little tiny pieces worn off, but was extremely rough and unpolished. Lately I have felt my tumbler is wearing off a little too much too fast. My heart is very sore from all the tumbling. I just hope that I am actually refining and not just adding more rough spots on myself. I want to endure well and let my faith carrying me through. That, I have learned, is much more difficult in practice than in theory."

what happened to my babies

i was watching my girls play a game on the living room floor and suddenly realized my babies have grown up, and somehow I missed it. oh the group of mixed emotions i have, I'm not sure how to deal with this.

This is Brooklyn at 36 hours old 7lb.10oz. 20.5in.

This is Hailee @ 12 hours old 8lbs. 2oz. 20.5in

Brooklyn is now almost five and Hailee is almost 3! its crazy to me how fast things change right before my eyes.

So the month of December was crazier than normal this year, with birthdays and the girls first dance concert and parties for friends and family. crazy as it was we had a lot of fun and made great memories.

The girls had their first dance concert early in the month and it was so much fun to watch and see what they had learned the last 4 months in class. They love their teacher Miss Emily and all the fun things she teaches them, the shimmy is their favorite

There are four family birthdays in December, we have the girls aunt Kaitlynn birthday on the 3rd, and the 17Th is the girls auntie tawna's and she live in Idaho, i promise your gift is coming! the 20Th is my brother Andrew's and he turned 18 this year. i hope he make good and wise choices. and the 24Th is my daddy's birthday he turned 51 and boy did we have fun with his party The Before... Since my dad doesn't like cake we do his favorite apple fritters for his birthday treat and we always put the #of candles in the cake that the person is turning and this year dad turned 51, so yes there are 51 individual candles on one tiny fritter

and then we had Christmas eve and always have Swedish meatballs at Jon's family, and its yummy ans always fun then we get to celebrate on our own and the girls and us open 1 gift before bed and we always get new Jammie's, it's great fun with the girls. Then it's Christmas and the fun begins, with flying paper and laughing kids, car rides to the grandparents houses and the long drive back home in a tightly packed car, and then to clean up the aftermath. we had a lovely holiday, and truly enjoyed the time we had with our family watching our not so little girls immersed in the pure magic of the season. we are also lucky to have a great group of friends that we got to celebrate New Year's Eve with, and it was a blast, with great food, awesome friends, and good memories, and fireworks who could ask for anything better, we can't!!! in between and after the holiday's we had our share of sickies and we are till trying to get completely over the yuckies.

So the past few weeks have flown by I feel like it keeps flying faster...i feel kinda like the teacups at disneyland! We have had a lot of fun this last while, we celebrated thanksgiving this year at jon's parents and as usaual the food was wonderful, it was a super nice day to spend with our family and be reminded of all the many things we have to be grateful for like, an eternal family, food on the table, our 4 kids, parents who have taught us great lessons, (even if we didn't always like them at the time), This year i braved the crowds on black friday with my sister-in-law and minus a few grouchy people it was a super fun night that started at 7:45p.m. in line at toys r us and ended at 6:00a.m. at my moms house where my girls had spent the night. Thanks Heather for the hot chocolate a great night!!! Cant wait till next year! In my family we have a tradition where on the Nielsen side we celebrate Christmas the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and there is always a theme that my Grandma puts together all year long, and this year the theme was Sheep and The Shepard. It was so neat to listen to my Grandma's sweet testimony of the Savior. I am grateful for the chance to hear her bare her testimony. And now its december and the list of holidays and birthdays are going to keep us busy this month. stay tuned for updates!!!

A few days ago the girls found all the dress up things and i got the honor to watch the wild and crazy fashion show. ( complete with pictures) we have alot of fun at our house! amidst all the estrogen, and drama, that comes with have the 3 of us girls in the house we seemed to always finds ways to enjoy ourselves!!!

Halloween 2010

i have to say that halloween is so much more fun with kids and the pure excitment that ouzies out of them. jon was super sweet and took the girls trick or treating in his parents nieborhood while i helped get ready for the first annual Davies family Chilli cook off ( i took second place) Thank you Berta for the awesome recipie it totally rocked!!! we also carved pumpkins with the girls this year. it was so funny niether of them wanted to clean them out and dirty, so jon had to clean them. Hailee kept saying " dat's biscrusting" i tend to agree! brooklyn wanted to have a happy pumpkin and Hailee wanted a sad one!!! I got brave this year and let the girls choose what they wanted to be this year for halloween Miss B was a Pirate and The Bug was a Black Kitty. we had a ton of fun this year and we are looking forward to the next one!!!

So the girls started dance class today, but do to some unforseen circumstances they were not able to dance but got to get a feel for the little studio and i think they are going to love it!!!

Summer in a nut shell

I haven't posted in a while and i have no good excuses, other than i just haven't, so this may be long winded! This summer has been full of happy, fun, and bittersweet things, i think im just going to list them, or this will take all day....

drove to St. Goerge for the Davies family reunion got to spend time with great family and make awesome memories. watched Tarzan at Tuachan. ( super awesome!!!)
headed to Lehi utah, drove in a nasty rainstorm with no windshield wipers and no radio, in the morning the battery was dead. ( dad saved the day!!!)
celebrated the twins first birthday
went to my great uncle ralph's funeral sad and happy day.
Attendend my brother Kevin's sealing and reception such a wonderful day
headed home from utah car started making some really weird sounds, got home safe took the car to the shop found out the rear engine was welded shut. no more "Green Van" as brooklyn says. needless to say counting my blessings we made it home safe.
spent the night in the Emergancy room with brooklyn, she was severly dehydrated and running a really high fever. She needed an IV and a cathider to help her get better. oh the histeria that insued was classic!!!
was able to attenend my brother dennis's sealing and reception!!! such a beautiful day
celebrated Brooklyn's 4th birthday with family and close friends. that little girl sure is loved and spoiled!
Went to the ER agian with brooklyn she got a craft puff ball stuck in her nasel cavity, and we found out that brooklyn has asthma! oh the fun of being a parent
Hailee has gotten her share of bumps and brusies and one minor concusion over the last few months but seems to bounce right back with no issue, and be her happy playful self!!!

We have had tons of fun lots of tears but memories that we get to have forever!!! Here are a few pictures...

P.S. while we were in Utah at the church history museum the girls got to meet the General Primary Presidency. it was such a neat experience!

So i have decided that packing for a 10 day trip for Myself, Jon, Brooklyn, and Hailee ( who is potty training really well) is way more work than any one mom should deal with. the other night my mind would not slow down thinking of all the possible things that i would need for every possible situation whether they happen or not. by the time my head slowed down i had imagined a u-haul trailer attached to the car. Yikes I'm nuts!!! Jon just keeps saying if we don't have what we need when we get there we will just go get what we need at the store! well you can't get "mine" and "woofer" at any store!!! Anyways done with my ranting!!! i am really excited about our trip, first a family reunion and then my brothers wedding! it should be a great vacation!!!

Bittersweet...

Mothers day this year was bittersweet for me... dont get me wrong jon and the girls spoiled me rotten jon bought me a Kitchenaid and i'm in love with it, and my girls ( really it was jon but it was sweet nonetheless) bought me two rose bushes one pink and one yellow!!! The only part that was not as good was that i kept thinking about Ashley and Nichole and how much fun we would be having with crazy 11 month old twins, and watching as jon tried to go shopping with all 4 of the girls would be hysterical!!! i know that my girls are safe and happy where they are and doing what they need to but just for a moment i wished they were here...

I am a really lucky mom to have such a wonderful family. I am truley blessed even when the moments are rough!!!

My baby turned 2 on Wednesday the 21st and i figured i should post about it. this little girl got super spoiled this year, my grandma was in town (for my sisters wedding) and grams makes the most amazing cakes ever and so she made Hailee a lovely purple princess birthday cake. ( which she loved and devoured) Hailee also got some new photos done thanks to our great friend Natalie and her wonderful talent!!! THANKS!!! Happy Bitrhday Bug!!!

This is the first year that we decorated Easter eggs with our girls, and it was tons of fun! once Hailee learned that she shouldn't drink the colored water, she wanted nothing to do with it. Brooklyn had a blast and didn't want to stop dying eggs. i think that we might turns this into a new Easter tradition!!!!

Now when i say that the family is growing i do not mean to say that i am growing, i mean that by August of this year three of my siblings will be married and therefore the family is growing!!!

Katlyn & Taylor are getting married April 23rd

Kevin & Katie are getting married June 19th

Dennis & Lauren are getting married August 13th

So my family is growing and its great! I do feel slightly old knowing that they are growing up and making wise and righteous choices. Aaahhh.... all is well with the world!!!!

all i hear right now is the giggles from my kitchen table as my girls eat thier lunch, and my sweet hailee saying "tant ju mommas" ( translation: thank you mom) and i look back on the past few hours where all i did was yell and get mad at them for not listening and doing what i asked them to do. as i walked into our office i passed a few pics of all our girls and i saw our sweet twins and I was reminded that all to soon everything could be gone and how ungrateful i was being. in truth the reality of things is that i shouldn"t have yelled instead i should have stopped what i was doing and shown them, and taught them what to do. i am still learning to take advantage of every moment i have with my kids, and to enjoy it in the moment, because all too soon those moments will be gone.

Today I am grateful for many things.... (here are just a few!)

My Heavenly Father, who teaches me that through our trials however small or great they may be that he is always there, as long as i'm willing to ask.
My hubby, who amidst my tears and complaining he still loves me and always finds a way to let me know how important i am to him.
Brooklyn, i am so blessed to have her in my life she reminds me that I am the "best mommy ever" ( even when i think i'm failing)
Hailee, what do i say about her. She reminds me that life is simple and that smile, and her chub and her sweet loves.
Ashley and Nichole, i cant even begin to explain the lessons learned, and the gratitude i feel from being blessed to be their mommy, even for a short while.

There are so many things that I am grateful for and i could go on and on but i won't!!! What are you grateful for?

Operation BooBoo Bunny

I would like to introduce you to my new best Friend, his name is BooBoo! Today he became the hero of the day, when even mommy kisses couldn't fix poor Hailee's BOOBOO!!! Hailee today made friends with the lanolium floor and her teeth met her lip, and well i think you get the picture, but just in case you dont here are a few to help you see.......... we had a rough little while trying to get the bleeding to stop but booboo is the hero, that and the fact that he was really cold!!!

Peace in the Valley

There is nothing more beautiful than a sleeping child. As a wise person once said "never wake a sleeping child." so I did my best not to disturb but i had to capture the "peace" that was our sweet Hailee while she slept! Hailee was so sleepy that all she wanted was her daddy because he was home from work, so up she climbed onto our bed, watch a little football, and she was gone. ( i don't blame her that game makes me sleepy too!)
